Sarah is a 12 year old girl that I talked with yesterday.
"Ever since COVID hit, I've been on my phone a lot more. And Coach Andrew, I think I am starting to compare myself to other girls way more. I don't like the way it makes me feel."
I asked her, "what are you comparing yourself to?"
Her response, "Looks mainly, and sports a little bit too."
"How does it make you feel?"
"Bad about myself. Like I am not enough," she replied.
Why are we putting our stake in the ground and expanding PFP during a pandemic? Why now?
The state of our youth is NOT GOOD. It has actually never been worse. We help kids become high-performers on the field, which is the easy part. But none of that matters if the kid doesn't have internal joy, passion, courage, confidence, and peace.
Kids are struggling and they need a place. A safe and inspiring place to go, with coaches who are on a mission to develop these young men and women into the fullness of who God created them to be.
In 2014 when we opened, if you were to tell me that we were going to attract the caliber of loving, caring, transformational coaches that we now have, I wouldn't have believed you.
We envision more and more love-powered coaches opting in to be part of the PFP team and the mission we are on.
We see more young ladies like Sarah who not only want to be better at sports, but want to feel better. More confident, more courageous in who they are, more certain.
We see rooms filled (once COVID is in the rear view mirror) with teenage boys and girls who crave and choose to attend inspiring, motivational seminars and workshops that will transform the direction of their lives.
We see other youth leaders, educators, and coaches flocking to PFP to learn from us -- our methods and systems for delivering joy and transformation in a world that needs it now more than ever.
We have plans to make a bigger difference and we are so, so grateful to have you along for the ride.
