Part 5: Uncommon Characteristics of Highly Confident, Successful Athletes

Over the past 2 months we have been releasing the 5 Characteristics of the most Confident, Successful Athletes. Here is part 5. Parts 1-4 can be found here.

#5 Last but not least, if you want to be a confident and successful student athlete, you must constantly SEEK guidance and advice from coaches and mentors.

In other words, ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE! Ask for help guys.

You have people in your corner who care about you, who want to help you succeed. You have people around you who were once where you are, but then figured out over time how to get to where they wanted to be.

Where do YOU want to be? Why not ask a trusted mentor or coach to help you get there?

I love talking to my Division 1, 2, and 3 college athletes. THEY are the ones that ask for help more than anyone else. Did they start asking for help after they became successful college athletes, or before?

The answer is, before. It is a prerequisite to success. (If you want to learn about our THRIVE Summer program for college athletes, click here).

Be proactive, not reactive.

Successful, confident athletes DO NOT WAIT until something goes wrong to ask for help.

They LOVE getting better, improving, growing. In order to do that, you must develop characteristic number 5.

Become the kind of person that regularly asks for help and advice, and you will eventually become an extraordinarily confident and successful student-athlete.
